Synchronizing Google calendar with Outlook



Calendar in the email account is of high use, because it contains the details of all our appointments, tasks, important schedules etc. Google calendar is one such calendar which is mostly used. This is because of its distinguished features. Some of the features of Google calendar are event flair which helps in differentiating different events, year view which helps to view whole year at once, event attachment, gentle reminder etc.

Need to synchronize Google calendar in Outlook: Now in this fast growing era, we do not want to waste even a single minute for unnecessary tasks. This is the only is idea behind the synchronization of Google calendar with Outlook. Suppose we work on two email clients Outlook and Gmail both have their separate calendar. We need to check this calendar separately for checking any schedule, appointments, tasks etc. Also there is a case when the one of the calendar gets deleted or crashed in that case all our appointments important schedules will be lost. So to overcome from this we can synchronize Gmail calendar with Outlook calendar so that we can check both calendar from one source.

There are two types of synchronization which is:
One way synchronization: In this method, the synchronization is done in only one way. For example: If you will update Outlook calendar your Google calendar will be updated, but if you will update Google calendar your Outlook calendar will not be updated.

Two way synchronization: In this synchronization is done by two ways. For example: If you will update Google calendar your Outlook calendar will be updated automatically, and similarly if you will update Outlook calendar your Google calendar will be updated automatically.

How to sync Google calendar in Outlook: There are few steps which you need to follow to sync your Google calendar with Outlook. They are:
  1. Log on to your Google calendar account.
  2. Click the down arrow next to the desired calendar in the Google Calendar My calendars box.
  3.  Select Calendar Setting from the menu
  4. Click on ICAL under Private Address.
  5. In the Calendar Address dialog box, click the Internet Web address of the calendar that appears.
  6. When prompted, click OK to import the calendar into Outlook.
In this way you can you can easily sync your Google calendar with Outlook for easy manage of both calendar and make our work more convenient.
