Recovering Deleted Items in MS Outlook 2007

In today’s business oriented work process, quick exchange of information is necessary in order to keep the things updated. Emails are a great source of communication from every corner of the world. Exchanging information via email requires fast and quick access so that the intended purpose can be fulfilled within the time limit.

Email applications developed by Microsoft have introduced a drastic change in professional as well as personal work strategy. Subsequently, they are being used around the world. Email messages contain sensitive information, important communications, business related data and much more. Hence, keeping the emails safe is mandatory.

Let’s look at a real life scenario:

You are working for an organization where MS Outlook is being used for business based communication. Naturally, your Outlook will consist of all crucial information within incoming/outgoing emails, drafts and contacts. Suppose, one fine day, you realize that some of the emails are no longer in use, instead they are just occupying the extra space for no reason. You’ll definitely delete them. (When you delete the items, they are moved to the ‘Deleted Items’ folder. It means that you can recover them. However, if you delete them permanently, they are not present in the respective folder also.) After removing the emails from ‘Deleted Items’ folder, if you need the emails anytime in future, what do you have to do? Same case may be with other items, such as contacts, notes etc.

Luckily, Microsoft has offered ways to recover deleted items in its all email applications. Below is a process describing how to recover deleted items in Outlook 2007, let’s proceed:

  1.      Go to the folder from where the item was deleted or go to the ‘Deleted Items’ folder.
  2.      Go to the ‘Tools’ menu, and click ‘Recover Deleted Items’.
  3.      Click the item that you want to recover or you can also select multiple items by pressing ‘Ctrl’ key while clicking each item, and click on ‘Recover Selected Items’.

The items that you recovered are now stored in the folder from where they were deleted.
However, the items that are not appeared in ‘Recover Deleted Items’ dialog cannot be recovered using the above described procedure.

Well, these items are still recoverable. For that, you need to choose comprehensive software built for fulfilling the purpose. There are actually a number of ‘Deleted Email Recovery’ applications that are capable of carrying out the task efficiently. Some of the software are capable of recovering items from MS Outlook as well as Outlook Express. They can recover lost emails, notes, attachments, contacts and other items.
